Solaryaan Elevates Chirag Patel to Executive Director as Company Accelerates ‘Solaryaan 2.0’ Growth Strategy

Solaryaan, an emerging clean energy technology company, has elevated Chirag Patel to the position of Executive Director, while he continues to serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer and Board Member. The leadership elevation comes as the company enters a new phase of growth under its ‘Solaryaan 2.0’ strategy, with a focus on product diversification, energy storage, manufacturing and nationwide expansion.

Patel brings more than 25 years of leadership experience across the renewable energy, power and telecommunications sectors. During his tenure at Solaryaan, he has played a key role in strengthening the company’s people, processes and product portfolio, while supporting its transition from a solar inverter-focused business to a broader clean energy solutions provider.

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta, Patel has held leadership positions at organisations including Shakti Pumps, Havells India, Panasonic, Tata Tele Business Services and Tata Power Renewable Energy.

In his expanded role, Patel will continue to lead Solaryaan’s strategic growth initiatives, covering business expansion, go-to-market strategy, ecosystem development, technology-led growth, organisational capability and operational excellence. His mandate will also include strengthening the company’s presence across India and positioning Solaryaan as an Indian clean energy brand with global ambitions.

Solaryaan Targets ₹400 Crore Revenue in FY27

Solaryaan has powered more than 500,000 solar installations across India and reported revenue of over ₹200 crore in the last financial year. The company is targeting revenue of more than ₹400 crore in FY27, supported by product expansion, a growing channel and EPC network, and rising demand for hybrid energy and storage solutions.

As part of its expansion strategy, the company is broadening its product portfolio across grid-tied inverters, hybrid inverters, micro inverters and battery energy storage systems (BESS). It is also strengthening its presence in key renewable energy markets across India.

Company Plans ₹150 Crore Battery Manufacturing Investment

Energy storage is emerging as a key component of Solaryaan’s next growth phase. The company plans to invest approximately ₹150 crore in a lithium-ion battery manufacturing facility as it seeks to build domestic energy storage capabilities.

Solaryaan is also evaluating an investment of approximately ₹550–600 crore in cell manufacturing, reinforcing its ambition to develop a stronger Made-in-India energy storage ecosystem and reduce dependence on external supply chains.

Commenting on his expanded role, Chirag Patel, Executive Director, CEO and Board Member of Solaryaan, said, “Solaryaan has entered an exciting phase of its journey, and my expanded role comes at a time when the company is transforming its capabilities and preparing for the next stage of growth. Our focus will be on building scale, strengthening our technology portfolio, investing in energy storage and creating a stronger organisation that can contribute meaningfully to India’s clean energy transition.”

Solaryaan Eyes Long-Term Growth and Potential IPO

The leadership elevation comes as Solaryaan prepares for its longer-term growth plans, including a potential initial public offering (IPO). The company expects stronger leadership capabilities, manufacturing capacity and product diversification to play an important role in supporting its expansion as India’s solar and energy storage markets continue to grow.

Under the broader Solaryaan 2.0 strategy, the company is seeking to move beyond conventional solar inverters towards integrated clean energy solutions covering solar generation, hybrid systems, battery storage and energy management.

Solaryaan also plans to expand its EPC and channel ecosystem while strengthening its technology and manufacturing capabilities. Through these initiatives, the company aims to establish a larger national footprint and position itself for sustained growth amid India’s transition towards greater energy independence and increased adoption of distributed renewable energy.
