Indian Green Energy Stocks Show Mixed Performance as Sensex, Nifty Gain on September 4

The Indian stock market closed higher on September 4, 2026, with benchmark indices recording modest gains. The S&P BSE SENSEX increased 0.48% to close at 76,515.43, while the NIFTY 50 gained 0.27% and settled at 23,937.90. Against this broader positive market backdrop, stocks from the green energy and related industrial sectors showed mixed performance during the trading session.

Kabra Extrusion emerged as the strongest performer among the tracked green energy stocks. Its shares gained 2.72% on the BSE to reach ₹581.10, while the stock advanced 2.66% on the NSE to close at ₹579.80.

Juniper Green Energy also recorded a positive performance on the BSE, where its shares rose 1.75% to ₹263.95. However, the stock declined 0.40% on the NSE, closing at ₹259.20.

Reliance Industries posted notable gains across both exchanges. The company’s shares increased 1.61% on the BSE to ₹1,322.00 and gained 2.03% on the NSE to ₹1,329.00. Insolation Energy also remained firmly in positive territory, rising 1.31% on the BSE to ₹90.20 and 1.52% on the NSE to ₹90.38.

Adani Green Energy gained 1.17% on the BSE to ₹1,300.00 and increased 1.22% on the NSE to ₹1,299.10. Inox Wind also ended higher, gaining 1.00% on the BSE to ₹74.69 and 0.54% on the NSE to ₹74.40.

However, several stocks faced selling pressure. Websol Energy was the biggest decliner among the tracked companies, falling 3.84% on the BSE to ₹74.36 and 2.11% on the NSE to ₹75.70. Praj Industries declined 1.74% on the BSE to ₹335.90 and 1.64% on the NSE to ₹336.00.

Olectra Greentech also lost more than 1%, closing at ₹1,229.00 on the BSE and ₹1,228.90 on the NSE. Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy slipped 0.35% on the BSE to ₹187.25 and 1.05% on the NSE to ₹185.82.

Other major companies recorded limited movements. Larsen & Toubro edged up 0.03% on the BSE and 0.29% on the NSE. Tata Power gained 0.82% to ₹368.00, while JSW Energy rose 0.56% to ₹539.00. NTPC Green Energy also traded higher, gaining 0.70% on the BSE to ₹89.33.

Overall, the session reflected a balanced trend across the green energy sector, with gains in several major stocks offset by declines in other companies.
