Neoenergia Elektro has installed 202 solar power systems across seven municipalities in São Paulo, Brazil, between January and July 2026, benefiting more than 83,500 residents.
The installations were carried out in Ilha Comprida, Macedônia, Miracatu, Pirassununga, Riversul, Santa Rita do Passa Quatro and Vargem Grande do Sul. The company invested approximately R$3 million in the solar installations, which have a combined capacity of 605.80 kWp.
The systems were installed at public schools, hospitals, health centers and homes of low-income customers. According to Neoenergia Elektro, the combined generation capacity is sufficient to supply up to 370 properties for one year.
The installations were implemented through Neoenergia Elektro’s Energy Efficiency Program, regulated by Brazil’s National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel).
In the Jardim Marília and Arnaldo dos Santos housing complexes in Pirassununga and Santa Rita do Passa Quatro, Neoenergia Elektro installed 195 solar power systems for low-income households. The distributor identified eligible families and conducted technical assessments of electricity consumption and installation feasibility before installing the systems at no cost to beneficiaries.
The selected homes received between two and four solar modules, depending on their individual electricity consumption profiles. In total, 507 solar panels were installed across the two housing complexes, with combined annual generation expected to exceed 353,000 kWh.
“One of the objectives of the Energy Efficiency Program, regulated by Aneel, is to encourage the consumption of clean energy, with sustainability. Through the solar panels installed in these properties, we reduce the emission of polluting gases into the atmosphere and also encourage other forms of environmental preservation,” said Levy Morais, supervisor of the Energy Efficiency Program at Neoenergia Elektro.
The company said the initiative also promotes other environmental practices, including selective collection of solid waste in exchange for discounts on electricity bills.
During the second half of 2026, families that received the solar systems will undergo training on conscious energy consumption. The programme aims to help beneficiaries avoid electricity waste and make effective use of the solar generation systems.
Morais said that combining solar generation with responsible energy consumption is important to ensure that the systems contribute to energy efficiency without encouraging higher electricity consumption.

Through the Energy Efficiency Program, Neoenergia Elektro is expanding distributed solar generation across public facilities and low-income households while supporting energy efficiency and clean-energy adoption in the municipalities it serves.
