The Renewable Construction Academy (RECOA) and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) have announced a new Knowledge Partnership focused on strengthening workforce development and expanding access to training across the global wind energy sector.
As part of the partnership, RECOA will sponsor 100 licenses for its Introduction to Offshore Wind (IN05) training course through GWEC’s Women in Wind initiative. The programme is intended to provide additional learning and career development opportunities for women pursuing careers in the wind industry.
The partnership will also create a framework for wider cooperation between RECOA and GWEC in training, industry outreach and professional development.
Under the agreement, GWEC members will receive preferential access to RECOA’s training programmes through discounted course offerings. The organisations will also collaborate on initiatives focused on skills development and lifelong learning across the wind energy sector.
Martin Warming, Founding Partner at RECOA, said the partnership aims to make high-quality offshore wind training more accessible and support the development of the next generation of wind industry professionals.
RECOA and GWEC will undertake regular collaboration, joint communications and support for industry events and initiatives as part of the partnership. The organisations will work to address the growing demand for skilled talent across the global wind sector.
The partnership is expected to support knowledge sharing, capacity building, diversity and professional development within the global wind energy industry.
