Linxon, Hitachi Energy and FTC Solar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic collaboration framework for jointly pursuing and delivering utility-scale solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects across North America and other mutually agreed markets.
The collaboration will combine the companies’ capabilities across engineering, procurement and construction (EPC), power and grid technologies, solar infrastructure, manufacturing and project execution. The companies aim to provide an integrated delivery model designed to accelerate project development, improve supply-chain certainty and reduce execution and integration risks.
Under the framework, Linxon will serve as the primary EPC integrator and market-facing contractor, providing engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and overall project execution services.
Hitachi Energy will provide utility-scale solar inverters, BESS power conversion systems, and automation and control technologies for plant operations. FTC Solar will contribute solar trackers, racking systems and related balance-of-system solutions.
The companies plan to develop a standardized and repeatable delivery model for renewable energy and grid infrastructure projects. The approach is intended to improve coordination between technology selection, manufacturing, supply chains and EPC execution from the early stages of project development.
According to the companies, the collaboration is expected to offer several benefits to project developers and owners, including faster project development, improved visibility into manufacturing capacity, greater standardization of solar, BESS and substation designs, reduced equipment integration risks and improved project schedule predictability.
The framework is also intended to support multi-site and programmatic renewable energy deployments while simplifying project interfaces for owners.
Stefan Reisacher, CEO of Linxon, said increasing electricity demand is placing greater emphasis on execution capacity, supply-chain availability and the industry’s ability to scale. He said combining Linxon’s EPC capabilities with Hitachi Energy’s grid and power technologies and FTC Solar’s solar infrastructure solutions would help customers execute large-scale renewable projects with greater certainty and predictability.

Anthony Caroll, CEO of FTC Solar, said integrating complementary technologies and expertise could improve the scalability, constructability and long-term performance of utility-scale renewable energy projects.
The collaboration will initially focus on opportunities involving utility-scale solar and BESS plants, with the companies expecting the framework to support a growing pipeline of projects requiring integrated renewable generation, energy storage and grid infrastructure.
Through the partnership, Linxon, Hitachi Energy and FTC Solar aim to address increasing demand for renewable generation and electrification while supporting the development of a more resilient and sustainable electricity system.
