Nordex Group has secured multiple orders to supply and install 35 wind turbines with a combined capacity of approximately 228 MW across several European countries.
The orders, received toward the end of September, include contracts for the long-term servicing of the turbines for periods of up to 25 years. Nordex said the names of the customers and specific projects have not been disclosed.
The orders cover the company’s N175/6.X, N163/6.X and N149/4.X turbine models, which are designed to operate under varying wind conditions across the respective project locations.
Some of the turbines will be supplied in a cold-climate configuration and equipped with Nordex’s Advanced Anti-Icing System (AIS). The technology is designed to help turbines remain operational during icing conditions and reduce associated production losses by up to 80%.
According to Nordex, the anti-icing system can support higher energy production during winter periods by enabling turbines to continue generating electricity under active icing conditions. This can also help maximise generation during periods when electricity demand and market prices may be comparatively higher.
The latest orders add to Nordex’s European wind turbine order portfolio, as demand for new renewable energy capacity continues to drive investments in wind power across the region.
