Vestas has announced new wind turbine orders totalling 65 MW across Denmark and Italy as part of its third-quarter 2026 order intake. The agreements cover three wind energy projects and include long-term service contracts, strengthening the company’s presence in the European renewable energy market.
In Denmark, Vestas has secured a 23 MW order from Eurowind Energy for the Øster Strarup wind project. The agreement includes the supply of five V136-4.5 MW wind turbines, supported by a 10-year Active Output Management (AOM) 4000 service agreement. Turbine delivery is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2028, with commissioning expected to commence in the third quarter of the same year.
Vestas has also received a 14 MW order from NRGi for the Broholm wind project in Denmark. The project will feature three V136-4.5 MW turbines and will be supported by a 15-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Delivery and commissioning activities are planned to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027.
In Italy, Vestas has secured an additional 29 MW wind turbine order from an undisclosed customer for an unnamed project. The agreement covers seven V136-4.2 MW turbines, along with a 10-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Turbine deliveries are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2028, while commissioning is scheduled to commence in the second quarter of 2028.
The three orders highlight continued investment in onshore wind energy infrastructure across Europe, with project developers focusing on expanding renewable electricity generation capacity and securing long-term operational support.
The inclusion of Vestas’ AOM service agreements across all three projects is expected to support turbine availability, operational efficiency and long-term asset performance. These agreements form part of the company’s approach to providing integrated wind energy solutions covering equipment supply, commissioning and maintenance services.
The latest contracts further strengthen Vestas’ position in the European wind energy market, particularly in Denmark and Italy, where renewable energy development continues to play an important role in electricity sector decarbonisation.
With deliveries and commissioning scheduled between late 2027 and 2028, the projects are expected to contribute additional wind power generation capacity and support Europe’s broader transition towards cleaner and more sustainable energy systems.
