KLK Ventures Secures PEDA Order for 7,968 Solar Street Lights in Punjab

KLK Ventures Pvt. Ltd. has secured a work order from the Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), a Punjab Government undertaking, for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of 7,968 solar photovoltaic (SPV) street lighting systems across various Gram Panchayats in Punjab. The project aims to strengthen rural infrastructure by expanding access to solar-powered street lighting and supporting the state’s renewable energy objectives.

Under the work order, KLK Ventures will install 7,968 solar street lighting systems featuring 12-watt LED lights. The systems will be equipped with Remote Monitoring Systems (RMS) and geo-tagging facilities to support monitoring, tracking, and maintenance. The scope of work includes 7,003 street lighting systems with poles and 965 systems without poles, based on the requirements specified in the work order.

The project also includes a five-year comprehensive warranty and annual maintenance support to ensure the reliable operation of the installed systems. KLK Ventures will be responsible for carrying out the work in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined by PEDA, covering the installation and commissioning of the solar lighting infrastructure across the designated rural locations.

The work order is part of a broader initiative by PEDA to address the demand for approximately 50,000 solar street lights across Gram Panchayats in Punjab. The agency had invited successful bidders to participate in the allocation process, with project quantities determined according to consolidated requirements received from the Department of Rural Development and Panchayats and district administrations.

Through this project, KLK Ventures will contribute to improving lighting facilities in village communities. Solar-powered street lighting can help improve visibility after sunset and support safer movement along rural roads and public spaces. The use of solar energy also reduces dependence on conventional electricity for street lighting, offering an energy-efficient solution for public infrastructure.

Commenting on the development, Akshat Jain, Chief Executive Officer of KLK Ventures, said the company was pleased to receive the work order from PEDA. He stated that the development reflected the company’s commitment to providing reliable and sustainable solar energy solutions. Jain added that rural solar street lighting could play an important role in improving public infrastructure while supporting the broader transition towards clean energy.

He also expressed the company’s intention to contribute to Punjab’s renewable energy goals through quality installations supported by monitoring systems, warranty coverage and maintenance services.

The project highlights KLK Ventures’ focus on providing end-to-end solar solutions, covering design, supply, installation, commissioning and long-term maintenance. By combining solar photovoltaic technology with LED lighting, remote monitoring and geo-tagging, the initiative is intended to support dependable lighting infrastructure in rural areas.

The development also reflects the growing adoption of decentralised solar solutions for public infrastructure in India. As government agencies continue to promote renewable energy in rural communities, solar street lighting projects are becoming an important part of efforts to improve energy efficiency and deliver sustainable public services.
