Recurrent Energy and SPIC Inaugurate 446 MWp Marangatu Solar Complex in Brazil

Recurrent Energy, a subsidiary of Canadian Solar Inc. has announced the completion of the 446 MWp / 360 MWac Marangatu Solar Complex in Brasileira, Brazil. SPIC holds a 70% stake in the project, with Recurrent Energy retaining the remaining 30%.

The Marangatu Solar Complex, developed by Recurrent Energy, was fully energized in April 2024 after 14 months of construction. Seventy-five percent of its energy output is secured through long-term power purchase agreements (PPAs). The complex is expected to generate enough electricity to power approximately 550,000 homes annually. Moreover, the project has created around 1,500 direct jobs and 500 indirect jobs.
