Enel Green Power Offers 283 GWh of Clean Power to Large Users in Guatemala and Panama

Enel Green Power in Central America consolidated itself as an important player in the electricity market, by launching its own trading company in Guatemala in October 2020, as part of its growth strategy in the region with which it has achieved to date the sale of 340 GWh of energy to large users through long-term energy and power contracts. This growth has been thanks to the centralization of its 5 hydroelectric plants in Guatemala, with which they can meet the energy demand of the sector.

The energy trading company has been characterized by providing a personalized service, as well as various commercial services -such as a detailed monthly billing system, personalized training programs or constant information on relevant events in the electricity market-, as well as technicians -attention 24 hours throughout the week, advice on projects or follow-up and solution to possible problems.

So far in 2021, 320 GWh have been commercialized, which is equivalent to lighting 260,000 homes in Central America. The company aims to become the main operator of the Regional Electricity Market (MER) in the coming years. In addition, in June of this year the importation of 8.5 GWh from Mexico began, which reinforces the growth that the marketer is having at the local and regional level.
