Hydrom, Hydrogen Oman SPC has published the request for proposals for the first round in its public auction to give large-scale integrated green hydrogen projects to developers.
To meet its 2030 production goal of at least 1 million tonnes of green hydrogen per year, the country plans to issue the first land blocks by 2023.
The RFP is a significant milestone in the auction, which began on November 6, 2022, with the release of the RFQ, request for qualifications.
Hydrom will evaluate the bids and award the first project to qualified applicants within the first quarter of 2023.
Hydrom received more than 180 registrations since the launch of the bidding round and over 50 applicants have been granted access to RFQ.
The country has a strategic opportunity to secure its energy security, diversify its economy and support the decarbonization of the difficult-to-abate sector in Oman as well as around the globe.
