A total of 12 projects were launched to provide drinking water access in the Hadhramaut, Lahij, and Abyan governorates of Yemen.
The first project in Hadhramaut will provide water access for 8,000 people.Â
These projects are funded by the Arab Gulf Program for Development, the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, and the Selah Foundation for Development.
A joint venture in renewable energy to improve Yemeni life quality includes the rehabilitation of wells and the installation of 12 drinking water systems as well as 35 irrigation systems using renewable energy.
It also provides energy for 20 health and educational facilities and supplies 133 homes with renewable electricity.
A training course for field engineers in water wells operated by the solar system and capacity building is part of the project.
