The unit, which required an investment of ₹120 crores, has the capacity to produce 700 MW of solar panels per year, with a maximum utilization capacity of 500 MW.

The panels will cater to the requirements of domestic and international markets, including exports, EPC projects, and IPP projects.

The company is planning to export its products to Australia and west Asian countries through subsidiaries. Swelect is also aiming to manufacture solar cells in the next one to two years through a joint venture partnership.

The annual sales from this new facility is expected to be around ₹1,000 crore with maximum capacity utilization. The new facility supersedes Swelect’s 140 MW facility, which has been operational since 2013 in Bangalore.
