PT PLN (Persero) has again entered into a business agreement for the development of New, Renewable Energy (EBT) in Indonesia. During a business visit to China, the Main Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo conducted a site visit to the construction company (Engineering, Procurement, Construction / EPC) China Communications Construction Dredging Co., Ltd (CCCC) in Beijing, as well as to agree on cooperation in developing the energy transition in Indonesia. The agreement signed is aimed at accelerating the development of EBT generators in Indonesia.
Main Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo explained that currently his company is accelerating the development of EBT generators, such as Hydroelectric Power Plants (PLTA), Solar Power Plants (PLTS), Wind Power Generators (PLTB) and Pumped Storage Power Plants in Indonesia. By cooperating with CCCC, which is the largest construction company in China, it is hoped that it can accelerate the energy transition process from fossil energy to EBT in order to achieve the target of net zero emission (NZE) in 2060.
“The cooperation that has been established between PLN and CCCC is expected to accelerate the construction of EBT generators. Thus, Indonesia will further accelerate the energy transition process,” said Darmawan.
In addition to the cooperation mentioned earlier, with the wealth of experience that CCCC has, Darmawan added, PLN can absorb knowledge from the company and discuss and collaborate in the construction of EBT infrastructure, Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) and gasification terminals.
CCCC itself is a company that has been involved in many large projects in China and abroad. Some of his biggest projects include the construction of the Hangzhou Bay bridge, the world’s largest port located in Shanghai, and the construction of the Three Gorges Dam in China.
“This cooperation agreement can increase investor confidence. Through solid cooperation between PLN and CCCC it is also hoped that we can strengthen economic relations between China and Indonesia,” Darmawan concluded.
