TotalEnergies, a global energy company, has successfully finished the construction of a 1-megawatt-peak (MWp) Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System at two production sites owned by PREMO Vietnam Co. Ltd in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam. This significant development marks a substantial stride towards sustainability in the region. PREMO, headquartered in Spain, is renowned for its innovative electromagnetic motion tracking sensing solutions and designs.

This new PV system, boasting over 1,700 installed modules, is set to produce approximately 1,350 megawatt-hours (MWh) of renewable electricity each year. The installation will power approximately 25% of PREMO Vietnam’s facilities with clean, renewable energy, leading to substantial cost savings and a remarkable reduction of the company’s carbon footprint by approximately 1,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. This environmental impact is equivalent to the effect of planting over 15,000 trees.

The partnership between TotalEnergies and PREMO Vietnam is structured to facilitate sustainability and ease of operation. Under the agreement, TotalEnergies fully funded and installed the solar system, and will continue to operate it. PREMO Vietnam, on the other hand, will exclusively purchase the electricity generated by the PV system for the next 20 years, thereby eliminating any upfront costs.
