SUSI Partners, through its Asia Energy Transition Fund (SAETF), has formed a strategic partnership with established clean energy developer BayWa r.e. The collaboration aims to facilitate the development, construction, and operation of commercial and industrial (C&I) solar PV projects in Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Indonesia. These projects target substantial sizes, up to 20 MWp, and will generate revenue through long-term electricity offtake agreements with prominent corporations.
SUSI will collaborate closely with BayWa r.e. throughout the project development phase and subsequently acquire fully prepared projects upon securing power purchase agreements. The partnership begins with an initial portfolio boasting a capacity of over 20 MWp. This agreement extends the existing relationship between SUSI and BayWa r.e., which had previously focused on renewable ventures in Europe, now venturing into the rapidly expanding C&I solar PV market within Southeast Asia.
This transaction contributes to the expansion of SAETF’s energy transition infrastructure portfolio, which encompasses five portfolio companies engaged in utility-scale renewable energy generation, energy efficiency, and distributed solar PV solutions for C&I customers across Southeast Asia.
