Chennai Metro Rail Limited Initiates Tender for 3.0 MWp Solar Plants

Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) has unveiled an open e-tender inviting proposals for the development of solar plants on elevated structures and open parking spaces as part of Phase 1 and Phase 1 Extension Stations and Depot.

Key details of the tender are as follows:

Scope of Work: The ambitious project includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, storage, civil work, erection of suitable structures, testing, commissioning, and operation and comprehensive maintenance (O&M) of a 3.0 MWp solar photovoltaic (PV) plant.

Bid Validity: The bids will remain valid for 180 days from the date of submission.

Approximate Value: The estimated value of the project, excluding GST, stands at INR 20 Crores, encompassing the structure cost.

Bid Security Amount: Applicants are required to furnish a bid security amount of INR 20,00,000 (Indian Rupees Twenty Lakhs Only) through NEFT, RTGS, or e-Bank Guarantee, valid for 208 days after the bid opening date.

Completion Period: The project is expected to be completed within 18 months from the signing of the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA).

Bid Submission Fee: A non-refundable bid submission fee of INR 32,000, including GST, must be paid via NEFT, RTGS, or Demand Draft.

Bid Submission Deadline: Interested parties must submit their bids by 6th November 2023, up to 15:00 hrs.

Bid Opening Date: The technical bid opening is scheduled for 7th November 2023 at 15:00 hrs.
