In the past seven months, Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a subsidiary of The Tata Power Company Limited, has achieved a milestone by exceeding 1.4 GW in group captive project capacity. This success is on account of Power Delivery Agreements (PDA) with diverse industries, including Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Mukand Limited, Supreme Petrochem Limited, and more. TPREL is poised to build a 41 MW captive solar plant for Tata Power’s forthcoming 4.3 GW Solar cell & module manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.
As of October 2023, TPREL’s renewable capacity is 7,961 MW, comprising 3,755 MW in various development phases and an operating capacity of 4,206 MW, encompassing 3,200 MW in solar and 1,006 MW in wind projects. With additional projects in the finalization stage, TPREL solidifies its role as a major player in the renewable energy sector. This highlights their dedication to advancing the energy transition towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
