Representing the first relatively large utility-scale solar power project in the province, the Php 1.2 Billion facility is poised to enhance indigenous power supply in Bohol, reducing reliance on imported power from Leyte and Cebu.

PGEC, a joint venture between PetroEnergy Resources Corp. (PERC) and Kyuden International Corp. (KIC), the overseas investment arm of Kyushu Electric Power Company, expressed gratitude for the seamless progress achieved.

Frederick B. Pizana, PGEC’s site engineer, credited the timely completion of major site development works to robust support from partner government agencies, host communities, and the local government unit of Dagohoy, led by Mayor Hermie Relampagos.

According to Pizana, “All the major site development works, prior to the installation of the solar panels and major electrical facilities, have been completed by our contractor, Media Construction and Development Corp.” He highlighted the collaborative efforts that enabled them to adhere to the schedule.
