GameChange Solar (GCS) has announced the inauguration of a new manufacturing facility, training center, and technical support hub exclusively dedicated to its Genius Tracker™ solar trackers in Feira de Santana, Bahia, Brazil.
The newly operational factory, situated in Feira de Santana, Bahia, commenced production in November 2023 with a capacity to manufacture 2.5 GW of trackers, expandable to meet rising demand. In addition to catering to the local market, the facility will also supply Genius Tracker units to other countries in Latin America.
Furthermore, the Brazilian Development Bank (BNDES) has granted FINAME certification for GameChange Solar’s Genius Tracker trackers, ensuring compliance with Brazil’s domestic content and manufacturing process requirements.
Vikas Bansal, International President at GameChange Solar, expressed the company’s dedication to the Brazilian solar economy, highlighting their commitment to providing high-quality solar jobs and meeting the demands of one of the fastest-growing solar markets globally.
Ion Accosta, Operations Director & Head of Brazil at GameChange Solar, emphasized the strategic importance of establishing the factory and support center in Brazil, enhancing the company’s ability to deliver exceptional service, training, and support to customers.
According to forecasts by Absolar, Brazil’s solar energy association, the solar PV industry in Brazil is poised for significant growth, with anticipated investments exceeding BRL 38.9 billion ($7.8 billion) in 2024. Developers are expected to install over 9.3 GW of solar capacity this year, underscoring the immense potential of the Brazilian solar market.
