Honorable PM Shri Narendra Modi will inaugurate the 300 MW Nokhra Solar Project by NTPC Green Energy Limited on February 16, 2024, via video-conferencing.
Spread over 1550 acres in Bikaner, Rajasthan, the project, under the CPSU Scheme (Phase-II), involves an investment of Rs 1803 crore, providing clean energy to Telangana.
Generating 730 million Units annually, the project illuminates 1.3 lakh households and curbs 6 lakh tonnes of CO2 emissions annually, with a target of 15 million tonnes over 25 years. With 13 lakh solar PV modules installed under Make-in-India, the project is a shining example of India’s self-reliance goals, aligning with NTPC’s commitment to a greener future.
NTPC, India’s largest power utility with 74 GW installed capacity, plans to expand its non-fossil fuel capacity to 45-50% by 2032, including 60 GW RE capacity, aligning with India’s Net Zero aspirations in collaboration with Niti Aayog.
