SJVN Energizes Gujarat with 100 MW Raghanesda Solar Power Project

SJVN Limited has announced the commissioning of its 100 MW Raghanesda Solar Power Station in Banaskatha district, Gujarat. This strategic move not only reinforces SJVNโ€™s commitment to sustainable energy but also marks a significant milestone in its expansion, bringing its total installed capacity to 2,377 MW. The newly commissioned solar power station is expected to produce 252 million units of energy in its inaugural year, with a projected total of 5,805 million units over the next 25 years. This energy output will be directed to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL) under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement, which was signed in January 2022.

NTPC Launches Bid for 26 MW Floating Solar PV Project at Sipat Reservoir

NTPC Limited has officially announced an invitation for bids for the establishment of a 26 MW Floating Solar PV Project at Reservoir-1B of NTPC Sipat. Interested bidders are required to submit their proposals online through a Single-Stage Two Envelope process, which includes a Techno-Commercial Bid and a Price Bid, followed by a Reverse Auction. The comprehensive scope of this project encompasses the detailed design of a Grid Interactive Solar PV Plant, incorporating civil, electrical, and mechanical auxiliary systems. This includes the creation of foundation drawings, single-line diagrams, installation drawings, and electrical layouts, among other necessary engineering documents.

Jindal Steel Unveils 15 MW Rooftop Solar Project and Electric Vehicle Fleet

Jindal Steel and Power (JSP) has unveiled a 15 MW rooftop solar power project at its steel manufacturing plant in Angul, Odisha. This groundbreaking initiative stands as the largest rooftop solar installation across India, designed to generate 21 million units of clean energy every year. The project aligns with JSPโ€™s commitment to environmental preservation, aiming to cut down carbon emissions by 18,000 tonnes annually. Furthering its efforts towards sustainability, the JSP Chairman introduced an environmentally friendly transportation system within the plant, deploying a fleet of 10 electric buses and 27 electric SUVs for employee mobility.

The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has inaugurated the nationโ€™s most extensive Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). The unveiling ceremony, conducted via video conferencing by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2024, marks the operational commencement of this pioneering project situated in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh. The BESS, characterized by its impressive 40 MW/120 MWh capacity, is paired with a solar photovoltaic (PV) plant boasting an installed capacity of 152.325 MWh and a dispatchable capacity of 100MW AC (155.02 MW peak DC).
