Nasr Petroleum Company and Global Technical Services (GTS) have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to conduct a feasibility study on the production of green hydrogen, according to a statement by the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources of Egypt.

Under the MoU, green hydrogen will be manufactured at Nasr Petroleum’s facilities in Suez, aligning with the Egyptian petroleum sector’s initiatives to implement environmentally friendly projects and promote sustainability.

The agreement involves identifying the necessary infrastructure for establishing a green hydrogen production facility within Nasr Petroleum, which will be utilized alongside natural gas in distillation furnaces.

The green hydrogen facility will be powered by energy generated from a solar power plant currently under construction by the company, boasting a capacity of 1 megawatt.
