TotalEnergies has surpassed 1.5 GW in signed renewable Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with more than 600 industrial and commercial clients globally. These agreements are intended for both on-site self-consumption and grid injection. Out of this total capacity, 1.1 GW is already operational, generating 1.5 TWh of electricity annually, while an additional 400 MW is slated for commissioning by the end of the year. Through the solarization of its clients’ facilities, TotalEnergies aims to strengthen the energy transition across diverse sectors, including agrifood, automotive, cement, digital, manufacturing, metals, mining, retail, and warehousing.

TotalEnergies enables the sale of renewable electricity generated at its B2B customers’ sites through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). In pursuit of this goal, the company undertakes the development, financing, construction, and operation of solar panels installed on rooftops, carports, and unused industrial areas.

These solar solutions empower businesses to achieve significant cost savings on their energy bills and benefit from stable electricity prices, all while shrinking their carbon footprint. Furthermore, onsite behind-the-meter batteries are available as an additional offering to enhance local consumption of solar-generated electricity and provide stabilization services to grid operators.

Moreover, TotalEnergies has a diverse array of decarbonized energy solutions tailored to meet the needs of over twenty different industries. These solutions encompass renewable electricity (including off-site solar, wind, and hydro PPAs), low-carbon fuels (ranging from hydrogen and biogas to Sustainable Aviation Fuel), CO₂ capture, storage, and utilization, as well as electric mobility solutions (including trucks).

Here’s a list of onsite renewable energy generation projects:

  • US – a long-term contract was signed for a solar carport project (12.3 MWp) coupled with battery storage (7.4 MW/24.6 MWh) to supply power to JFK Airport serving New York City.
  • Belgium – construction of a 31 MWp floating photovoltaic (PV) plant for Holcim Belgium to supply decarbonized electricity to the Obourg cement plant.
  • Oman- launch of a 17 MWp single-axis tracker ground-mounted solar facility for Veolia to power the Sharqiyah Desalination Plant.
  • Indonesia – construction of a 43 MWp rooftop solar system, the largest in the country, to power a Gunung Raja Paksi (GRP) steel factory.
