RECPDCL Hands Over Key Power Transmission SPV to MEIL to Boost Uttar Pradesh’s Infrastructure

In a significant move towards enhancing the power transmission infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh, REC Power Development and Consultancy Limited (RECPDCL), a subsidiary of the esteemed Maharatna CPSU, REC Limited, under the Ministry of Power, has successfully transferred its project-specific Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to Megha Engineering & Infrastructures Limited (MEIL). The SPV, Meerut Shamli Power Transmission Limited, is tasked with the pivotal project of constructing the Meerut (765 kV) โ€“ Shamli 400 kV double circuit line.

This strategic handover marks the culmination of a rigorous Tariff-based Competitive Bidding (TBCB) process overseen by RECPDCL, underscoring its commitment to transparent and efficient project execution. MEIL, having demonstrated its capability and expertise, emerged as the successful bidder, signifying its role in bolstering the state’s intra-state transmission capabilities.

The formalities of the transfer were conducted in the presence of Shri Satybaan Sahoo, General Manager (Engineering) of RECPDCL, along with other dignitaries from RECPDCL and Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL). This transition not only highlights the collaborative efforts of various stakeholders but also aligns with the Government of Uttar Pradesh’s objectives to enhance the reliability and efficiency of its power transmission network.
