Vestas has secured two firm wind turbine orders totalling 614 MW in Western Australia as part of its third-quarter 2026 order intake. The agreements cover the Parron Maam Marang and Kondinin wind farms and include the supply of 99 V162-6.2 MW EnVentus wind turbines, along with 30-year Active Output Management (AOM) 5000 service agreements.
The orders strengthen Vestas’ presence in Australia’s renewable energy market and support the country’s ongoing efforts to expand wind power generation, improve energy security and accelerate the transition towards a lower-carbon electricity system.
Under the first agreement, Vestas will supply 78 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines to Atmos Renewables for the 484 MW Parron Maam Marang Wind Farm in Western Australia. The project will be supported by a 30-year AOM 5000 service agreement, covering long-term turbine maintenance and operational performance optimisation. Turbine deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027, with commissioning planned for 2028.
The second order has been placed by Foresight Group for the 130 MW Kondinin Wind Farm, also located in Western Australia. The project will feature 21 V162-6.2 MW wind turbines and will include a 30-year AOM 5000 service agreement. Delivery is expected to commence in 2027, while commissioning is scheduled for 2028.
Both projects will utilise Vestas’ EnVentus turbine platform, which incorporates advanced wind turbine technology designed to deliver efficient energy generation and reliable performance across varying wind conditions. The V162-6.2 MW turbines will be configured to suit local site requirements, supporting energy production and long-term operational efficiency.
Purvin Patel, Regional President Asia Pacific at Vestas, highlighted the importance of the projects in strengthening Australia’s renewable energy infrastructure. He stated that the developments would contribute to a more secure, affordable and sustainable electricity system while demonstrating the suitability of Vestas’ EnVentus technology for the Australian market.
The latest orders build on Vestas’ existing involvement in Western Australia’s wind energy sector, including the Warradarge, Warradarge 2, King Rocks and Waddi wind projects. Together, these developments reflect continued investment in large-scale wind power infrastructure and the expansion of renewable electricity generation capacity across the state.
The inclusion of 30-year service agreements for both projects underscores the growing importance of long-term asset management in utility-scale wind developments. Through its AOM 5000 service programme, Vestas will support turbine maintenance, operational reliability and performance optimisation throughout the contracted service period.
Western Australia is witnessing continued renewable energy development as electricity demand evolves and the state seeks to diversify its power generation mix. Large-scale wind projects are expected to play an important role in supporting grid reliability, reducing emissions and meeting future energy requirements.
With a combined capacity of 614 MW, the Parron Maam Marang and Kondinin wind farms are expected to make a significant contribution to Western Australia’s renewable energy portfolio once commissioned in 2028.
The orders further reinforce Vestas’ position in the Asia-Pacific wind energy market and highlight its continued role in supporting Australia’s energy transition through advanced turbine technology, large-scale project development and long-term operational services.
