GDSun, a leading company specializing in the implementation, operation, and maintenance of solar plants in the distributed generation segment, has successfully completed the energization of two new plants, further bolstering its renewable energy portfolio. The newly added plants contribute a combined installed capacity of 6.4 MWp to the company’s expanding infrastructure.
The UFV Estância plant, located in Fernandópolis (SP), boasts an impressive 5.52 MWp of installed capacity. Meanwhile, the UFV São Lourenço do Sul plant, situated in the eponymous city in Rio Grande do Sul, contributes an additional 0.88 MWp to GDSun’s renewable energy output.
With the commissioning of these plants, GDSun now operates a total of 65 plants across Brazil, solidifying its presence in 13 Brazilian states. The company’s vast infrastructure, totaling 168.4 MWp of installed capacity, is meticulously monitored in real-time from its operations center.
This significant expansion aligns seamlessly with the growth trajectory of the renewable energy sector in Brazil. Recent data from the Brazilian Photovoltaic Solar Energy Association (Absolar) indicates that the country has surpassed 28 GW of installed power in distributed generation.
Commenting on the milestone achievement, Simone Suárez, CEO of GDSun, remarked, “Solar energy generation has experienced exponential growth in recent years, driven by the concerted efforts of large corporations towards energy transition. Since its inception, GDSun has remained committed to a business model that facilitates and accelerates this transition in Brazil, empowering various sectors of the economy to embrace decarbonization initiatives.”
