ACWA Power, the world’s largest private water desalination company and a leading advocate for energy transition and green hydrogen, has signed a landmark agreement with the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). The partnership aims to catalyze the worldwide transition to renewable energy sources and foster sustainable energy solutions.
The agreement outlines a framework for collaboration between ACWA Power and IRENA to implement sustainable energy solutions on a global scale. This collaboration aligns with ACWA Power’s commitment to providing sustainable energy solutions and seeks to expedite the adoption and responsible utilization of renewable energy worldwide.
Under the partnership, ACWA Power and IRENA will exchange crucial information on infrastructure investment for renewable energy, green hydrogen development, solar power, smart grids, and the energy-water nexus. ACWA Power will also participate in various IRENA initiatives, including those focused on Green Hydrogen, Collaborative Frameworks, Project Facilitation, and the promotion of industry decarbonization.
The collaboration will explore avenues to mobilize finance and investment in renewable energy projects, supporting the development, storage, distribution, transmission, and consumption of renewable energy resources. Additionally, joint workshops and seminars will be organized to share best practices, enhance capabilities, and raise awareness about the energy transition among stakeholders.
