The PLTS project is a collaborative effort between Sub Holding Power & New Renewable Energy, Pertamina NRE, and Pertamina Hulu Energi. The solar power plant, with a capacity of 25 Megawatt Peak (MWp), is situated in the PHR oil and gas operational areas, including Rumbai, Duri, and Dumai.

Fadjar Djoko Santoso, Pertamina’s Vice President for Corporate Communication, highlighted the company’s leadership in the energy transition, emphasizing the push for new and renewable energy usage across its business operations. “The PLTS will support operations in the Rokan work area as a showcase for the use of clean and environmentally friendly energy, which also aids in business optimization,” explained Fadjar.

The Rokan PLTS exemplifies Pertamina’s dedication to supporting Indonesia’s net zero emission target by 2060. This environmentally friendly project is expected to reduce emissions by up to 23,000 tons of CO2 annually and decrease gas fuel usage by 352 million metric standard cubic feet (MMSCF) per year, potentially leading to cost savings of up to US$4.3 million per year.
