OMV Petrom Completes Acquisition of Romania’s Largest Electric Mobility Network

OMV Petrom, the largest integrated energy producer in Southeastern Europe, has successfully closed the acquisition of Renovatio Asset Management. Renovatio owns the largest charging network for electric vehicles in Romania, currently comprising over 400 charging points with plans to expand to approximately 650 by 2026.

The transaction, which has received approval from the Competition Council and the Commission for Foreign Direct Investment Screening, marks a significant step for OMV Petrom in expanding its presence in the electric mobility sector.

As of the end of the first quarter of 2024, OMV and Petrom networks combined had approximately 300 charging points.

Radu Cฤƒprฤƒu, member of the OMV Petrom Executive Board responsible for refining and marketing, commented on the acquisition, stating, “By completing this acquisition, OMV Petrom becomes the largest player in the field of electric mobility in Romania. Our ambition is to have 1,000 charging points installed across Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Moldova by the end of this year. We aim to maintain our position as the preferred choice for customers and consolidate our leadership in the Romanian mobility segment.”
