Banco de Bogotá and digital energy efficiency platform Azimut Energía have announced a strategic alliance aimed at financing energy efficiency and solar energy projects across Colombia. The alliance involves an investment commitment of 150 billion pesos (approximately $36.2 million).

According to a joint statement, the funds will be allocated through an investment model developed in collaboration with Azimut Energía. Initially, the model will deploy 25 billion pesos, with financing terms extending over long periods ranging from 10 to 15 years, depending on the specific technologies required.

To facilitate the alliance, an autonomous asset has been established with Fiduciaria Bogotá, serving as the vehicle through which the Bank’s debt contributions are channeled. Azimut Energía will execute approved projects using these resources, ensuring that neither Azimut nor the client bears responsibility for the debt incurred.

The capital will primarily target the replacement of outdated technologies with newer, more efficient, and sustainable solutions. Additionally, it will support distributed generation projects, particularly focusing on the implementation of renewable energy sources such as solar. These initiatives aim to enable companies to achieve more economical and sustainable energy production.
