SunSource Energy, a prominent provider of solar energy solutions and subsidiary of SHV Energy, has announced the commissioning of three open access solar power plants in Uttar Pradesh. Spanning across 150 acres in Jhansi and Lalitpur districts, these plants boast a total capacity of 45 MWp. The projects, supported by Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with leading clients across various sectors, are anticipated to generate 1.5 million megawatt-hours (MWh) of solar energy over their operational lifespan, mitigating up to 1.4 million tonnes of CO2 emissions.
The initiative underscores SunSource Energy’s commitment to expanding its presence in Uttar Pradesh’s clean energy landscape. Santanu Guha, CEO of SunSource Energy, expressed pride in facilitating corporate sustainability goals through these projects. With six operational open access projects in the state and four more in development, SunSource Energy’s total operational capacity in Uttar Pradesh now approaches 100 MWDC.
Established over fourteen years ago, SunSource Energy has been pivotal in India’s energy transition, with a portfolio encompassing 600 MWp in deployed, contracted, and under-development solar assets. The company serves a diverse clientele including data centers, media conglomerates, and global beverage firms, contributing significantly to India’s renewable energy sector across various industrial domains.
