L’Energètica, the public renewable energy company of the Generalitat de Catalunya, has initiated its first public procurement process for purchasing renewable energy projects. The process, invites all interested companies to participate by offering ground-based solar parks of up to 5 MW.
With a budget of up to 10 million euros, L’Energètica aims to expand its portfolio of energy facilities managed across Catalonia. Priority will be given to new construction projects, focusing on minimum cost and social acceptance by the municipality where the projects are planned.
Selection criteria include the involvement of energy communities, contribution to municipal energy self-sufficiency, adoption of environmental impact reduction measures, incorporation of storage facility hybridization, and use of EU-manufactured components. Projects that ensure a balanced territorial distribution considering network capacity limitations will also be prioritized.
Interested companies can submit their proposals from July 1st to 31st through L’Energètica’s Contractor Profile. Selected projects will undergo a comprehensive audit to confirm technical, economic, and legal viability before finalizing the purchase.
L’Energètica was established in March last year with the goal of decarbonizing electricity consumption in the Generalitat. Currently managing renewable assets and promoting solar, wind, and hydraulic energy projects, the company aims to achieve over 1,000 MW of renewable power by 2040. In its first year, L’Energètica has accumulated a generation capacity of 19 MW, with more than 50 projects in progress or planned, serving one million supply points across Catalonia.
