PLN Indonesia Power Surpasses 2023 Targets With Record Electricity Production Of 84,572 GWh And Enhanced Capacity

PLN Indonesia Power, a subholding of PT PLN (Persero), has achieved a significant milestone in 2023, surpassing its electricity production and sales targets. The company reported a production of 84,572 Gigawatt hours (GWh), exceeding its target of 78,735 GWh for the year. Additionally, PLN Indonesia Power recorded electricity sales of 79,989 GWh, surpassing the target of 74,404 GWh.

PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo praised the company’s performance, noting, “PLN Group continues to optimize our generation system through streamlined business processes. Our goal is to ensure that electricity supply remains reliable and affordable for all communities.”

The company’s operational performance was further highlighted by PLN Indonesia Power President Director Edwin Nugraha Putra. He reported that the Equivalent Forced Outage Rate (EFOR) for the PLTU Luar Jawa Bali power plant reached 13.44%, surpassing the target of 14.94% with a 110% achievement rate. Similarly, the Java Bali Non-PLTU Power Plant achieved an EFOR of 0.77%, exceeding the target of 0.94% and achieving 118%.

PLN Indonesia Power has also made strides in renewable energy, producing 10,175.63 GWh of electricity from clean energy sources, including hydroelectric, geothermal, biofame, and biomass. Hydroelectric power plants contributed the most, generating 5,299.15 GWh. This commitment to clean energy supports PLN Indonesia Power’s goal of reaching net zero emissions by 2060.

In addition to its renewable energy achievements, the company has worked on improving coal fuel efficiency. PLN Indonesia Power produced 509.8 GWh of clean electricity through its PLTU co-firing program, exceeding the target of 252 GWh.
