JSW Renew Energy Twenty Limited, a wholly-owned stepdown subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited (BESCOM) for a 300 MW solar project. This capacity was awarded by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Limited (KREDL).
The agreement, which extends until FY 2044, sets a tariff of โน2.89 per KWh for the power generated. The project will be situated in Pavagada Solar Park, Karnataka, and is expected to be operational within the next 18 months. With this addition, JSW Energy’s solar pipeline capacity now totals 3.2 GW, with PPAs signed for 1.3 GW.
JSW Energy currently has a total locked-in generation capacity of 16.7 GW, which includes 7.5 GW of operational capacity, 2.3 GW under construction across wind, thermal, and hydro projects, and a renewable energy pipeline of 6.9 GW, of which PPAs are signed for 2.3 GW. The company also holds 4.2 GWh of energy storage capacity through its battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.
Looking ahead, JSW Energy aims to expand its generation capacity to 20 GW and its energy storage capacity to 40 GWh by 2030. The company has set a long-term goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
