Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited is excited to announce the launch of its successful ‘#GharGharSolar, Tata Power ke Sang’ initiative in Tamil Nadu. Building on its achievements in Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, and Chhattisgarh, the program aims to deliver sustainable and affordable solar energy to households across Tamil Nadu, empowering them to adopt clean energy solutions.
The launch event in Coimbatore was attended by Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power Company Limited, and Mr. Deepesh Nanda, CEO & Managing Director of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited, along with senior leaders and valued partners. The initiative will cover all districts of Tamil Nadu, supported by 42 channel partners, enabling a smooth transition to clean energy for local households.
Tamil Nadu is a strategic focus for TPREL, with over 240 MW of installed capacity across residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, positioning the state as a potential solar powerhouse. A significant project in the region is Tata Power’s 4.3 GW Solar Cell and Module Manufacturing Facility in Tirunelveli, which aims to boost local production of solar cells and modules, reducing dependence on imports while supporting India’s renewable energy targets.
Recognizing Tamil Nadu’s vast renewable potential in both solar and wind energy, the ‘#GharGharSolar’ campaign seeks to promote solar adoption through accessible Rooftop Solar Solutions (RTS). In alignment with the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, residents can take advantage of government subsidies of ₹30,000 for 1kW systems, ₹60,000 for 2kW, and ₹78,000 for installations between 3 to 10kW. “The launch of our highly successful #GharGharSolar initiative in Tamil Nadu is pivotal in supporting the adoption of clean and affordable energy through rooftop solar solutions. This campaign will empower thousands of households across the State to take charge of their energy needs and reduce spending on electricity bills through rooftop solar. The State Government has been constantly encouraging renewable energy adoption, and with this initiative, we look forward to supporting their efforts in making Tamil Nadu the clean energy powerhouse of India.” said Dr. Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power.
