JSW Renew Energy Seventeen Limited, a stepdown subsidiary of JSW Energy Limited, has signed its first Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for a wind-solar hybrid project. The agreement, finalized with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (GUVNL), secures the supply of 192 MW of hybrid wind-solar power for 25 years at a tariff of โน3.27 per kWh.
The project is slated for completion within 24 months and will be connected to the State Transmission Utility (STU) in Gujarat. This marks a significant milestone for JSW Energy as it expands its renewable energy portfolio.
Expanding Renewable Capacity
JSW Energyโs current project pipeline stands at 8.3 GW, with PPAs already signed for 3.2 GW of this capacity. The company has a total locked-in generation capacity of 18.2 GW, which includes 7.7 GW operational, 2.1 GW under construction, and 8.3 GW in renewable energy projects. Additionally, JSW Energy has secured 16.2 GWh of energy storage capacity, utilizing both battery energy storage systems and hydro pumped storage projects.
The company has set an ambitious target of reaching 20 GW of generation capacity and 40 GWh of energy storage capacity by 2030, as part of its broader sustainability vision.
Commitment to Carbon Neutrality
JSW Energy is committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, aligning with global efforts to reduce carbon emissions and support sustainable energy transitions. The new wind-solar hybrid PPA with GUVNL is a strategic step toward realizing these long-term environmental goals.
