ACME Solar Holdings Ltd., one of India’s leading renewable energy companies, is set to open its initial public offering (IPO) for public subscription on November 6, 2024. As India’s renewable energy sector continues to expand, this IPO offers investors a new entry into an industry with significant growth potential. With subscriptions closing on November 8, the company has provided essential details in its Red Herring Prospectus (RHP) for prospective investors.
The IPO aims to raise ₹2,900 crore, comprising an offer for sale of 1.75 crore shares worth ₹505 crore and a fresh issue of 8.29 crore shares valued at ₹2,395 crore. ACME Solar has set the price band for the offering between ₹275 and ₹289 per share. Investors can enter the offering with a minimum application of 51 shares, making the minimum investment requirement around ₹14,739 for retail investors.
ACME Solar Holdings was founded in 2015 and has since grown into one of India’s largest producers of renewable energy, primarily focused on solar and wind power projects. The company oversees the development, construction, ownership, and maintenance of these large-scale projects. The IPO’s net proceeds will be used for repaying or partially repaying outstanding loans held by its subsidiaries, alongside general corporate purposes.
The IPO’s lead managers include well-known financial firms like Nuvama Wealth Management, ICICI Securities, JM Financial, Kotak Mahindra Capital, and Motilal Oswal, with KFin Technologies acting as the issue registrar.
On the financial front, ACME Solar showed notable improvements for FY24, with revenue rising by 7.71% and net profit moving from a loss in FY23 to a profit in FY24, signaling robust financial recovery. With competitors like Adani Green Energy and ReNew Energy Global, ACME Solar is positioned competitively within India’s renewable energy landscape.
The IPO’s grey market premium (GMP) currently stands at nil, indicating no premium trading in the unofficial market. This could influence investor sentiment as the subscription window opens, with ACME Solar’s official listing planned for November 13, 2024, on the BSE and NSE.
