Puri highlighted the close and growing economic collaboration between India and the UAE, particularly in energy. He noted that several economic and trade agreements between the two nations have recently come into effect, with a focus on enhancing bilateral trade and fostering sustainable energy partnerships. One of the key developments in this cooperation is a new long-term agreement between India and ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company) to supply one million metric tonnes of natural gas annually to India, delivered through Indian Oil Corporation Limitedโ€™s ports. This agreement marks a significant step in strengthening energy relations and opens up new avenues for future collaboration.

Puri expressed confidence that the UAE and Indiaโ€™s continued partnership holds vast potential for expanding energy cooperation, particularly in the areas of natural gas and clean energy solutions.

The Indian Minister also discussed the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI) in the energy sector, calling it a “game-changing” technology. Puri highlighted that India is increasingly incorporating AI into various sectors, including energy, to drive innovation and optimize energy management.

Additionally, Puri noted the prominent participation of Indian energy companies at ADIPEC 2024, describing the exhibition as a vital platform for sharing best practices, discussing advanced energy technologies, and sealing important business deals that will shape the future of the global energy sector. The growing India-UAE energy partnership is poised to further advance both countries’ shared vision of a sustainable, technology-driven energy future.
