Ampd Energy, a leader in battery energy storage systems (ESS) for heavy industries, has raised $27.3 million in an oversubscribed Series B funding round led by Kibo Invest and Openspace. Existing investors MTR Lab, Taronga Ventures, and 2150 also contributed significantly, reaffirming their support for Ampd Energyโs mission to provide sustainable energy solutions. The funding will fuel Ampdโs expansion into new sectors, including mining and manufacturing, with a focus on reducing carbon emissions in additional markets such as the Middle East, Europe, the U.S., and Southeast Asia.
Ampd Energyโs flagship products, the Enertainer and Ampd Siloโข ESS units, provide energy storage solutions designed to replace traditional fossil fuel generators. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), the building and construction sectors are responsible for 30% of global energy consumption and 27% of emissions in the energy sector. Compared to diesel generators, Ampdโs solutions reduce carbon emissions by up to 90%, emit no air pollutants, and operate quietly, making them ideal for industrial applications. So far, over 300 units have been deployed across seven countries, helping cut over 69,000 tonnes of COโโequivalent to removing 88,000 cars from the road.
Ampd Energy CFO Anthony Stewart emphasized the companyโs commitment to a zero-emission future, stating, โThis funding validates our teamโs efforts and commitment to delivering impactful, market-ready clean energy solutions globally.โ Stewart expressed excitement about scaling operations and broadening the companyโs reach.
James Marshall, CEO of Kibo Invest, highlighted Ampdโs clear strategic vision and focus on creating sustainable energy solutions, noting, โWe are thrilled to support Ampd Energyโs expansion, and look forward to amplifying their positive impact on the global energy landscape.โ
Jessica Huang Pouleur, Partner at Openspace, echoed this support, adding, โAmpd Energyโs innovation and strong management team have laid the groundwork for a significant reduction in diesel dependency in Southeast Asia and beyond.โ
Ampd Energyโs ESS products deliver clean, affordable, zero-emission energy while providing real-time data insights, allowing for 24/7 monitoring and diagnostics through proprietary software. The companyโs expansion plans underscore its mission to drive a sustainable energy future across heavy industries worldwide.
