In a groundbreaking achievement, the largest solar-powered torch, โShakti ka PratikโThe Symbol of Strength,โ has earned a place in both the India Book of Records and the Asia Book of Records. Installed by Team Omez Antacid of Dr. Reddyโs Laboratories in partnership with The Brand Brewery Private Limited, the impressive structure was unveiled on October 29, 2024, during the Kali Puja festivities in Kolkata. This record-setting installation is part of the โFreedom for Herโ campaign, which celebrates womenโs health and empowerment.
Standing 17.11 feet tall and constructed from durable fiber, the solar-powered torch is more than just a structure; it represents the resilience, strength, and spirit of women across India and beyond. The torch was conceived from the ideas and contributions of over 34,000 healthcare professionals (HCPs) who shared their views on women’s empowerment as part of the campaign, laying the foundation for this momentous occasion.
The installation was inaugurated by renowned doctors from Kolkata alongside celebrity Sandipta Sen. Representatives from the India and Asia Book of Records were also in attendance, acknowledging the significance of the installation and its impact.
The torch symbolizes not just the physical strength of women but also their inner power to rise above challenges, inspire others, and lead with resilience. As part of the ceremony, discussions also emphasized the importance of an ‘Acidity-Free Life,’ with health experts urging the public to adopt a healthier lifestyle and manage acidity effectively for better well-being.
Dr. Reddyโs has been championing the cause of womenโs empowerment through this initiative, furthering its mission with the 2023 launch of the โAcidity-Free Lifeโ campaign. Additionally, January 9 has been designated as World Acidity Day to highlight the importance of managing acidity and promoting a healthy, sustainable lifestyle.
The solar-powered torch, located at the Somen Mitra Kali Puja Pandal, serves as a beacon of hope, symbolizing the inspiring force of women and the campaign’s message of living a life free from health struggles.
