MENA region is considered one of the most active regions globally, due to its high irradiance levels and affordable lands, the solar energy is considered the most feasible source of energy competing fossil fuel-based power generation technologies.

Every advancement in PV technology will have a positive impact of the generation and LCOE, that’s why we see MENA utility PV projects have the lowest LCOE globally specially with new technologies such as TOPCon.

TOPCon provided an improved performance not with its higher power alone, but with also improved performance in harsh weather conditions such as high temperature and humidity, low light performance and high UV exposure.

Can you tell us about the recently launched Tiger Neo 3.0 module & what are the key features and innovations that enhance performance and durability?
Tiger Neo 3.0 is a landmark product which will shift the solar market into new level in terms of technology and performance similar to Tiger Neo which was introduced in 2022, it combines 4 new technologies 20BB, ME, HCP and MAX which will add more than 20Wp, improve the efficiency by 1% to reach 24%, and enhance the reliability of the PV modules.

What specific technological trends or features in the Tiger Neo 3.0 are currently driving demand in the MENA countries?
I believe the MAX technology will be a game changer, since it focuses on increasing the bifaciality of the modules up to 90%, this technology will make TOPCon on the same level of HJT technology.

How does Jinko maintain rigorous quality control throughout the PV module lifecycle, ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction ?
PV modules reliability is a very serious topic in MENA, almost all utility projects require extensive reliability and durability tests to ensure that the PV module will serve and perform as promised.

Although the current market situation is the best, and many suppliers are leveraging the quality of the components of PV modules in order to reduce the costs, but Jinko’s approach is completely different, we focus on optimizing our process efficiency in order to offer our product in more competitive prices rather than reducing the quality of the BOM.

What are the main challenges facing solar energy development in the MEA region, and how are industry leaders addressing them ?
MEA is witnessing a huge demand for solar energy, we see many countries have already set policies and strategies to enhance the renewable energy market such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, South Africa and many others.

Yet, many countries are still lagging the right ecosystem to attract the stakeholders to invest and work in solar energy.

Another challenge is the global supply chain of PV modules, where the prices are falling dramatically and many suppliers are reporting losses, this is not a sustainable situation, and we see now many efforts to stabilize the market and push the prices up.
