O2 Power, a top renewable energy company in India, has signed a 100 MW Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with East Central Railways. The clean energy for this agreement will come from O2 Power’s 360 MW capacity across Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Karnataka, using innovative solar and wind solutions to support the shift to renewable energy.
East Central Railways, a vital part of Indian Railways, is taking a big step toward reducing its carbon emissions through this partnership. The renewable energy provided will power ECR’s operations, cutting its carbon footprint and boosting energy sustainability. With solar and wind power from multiple states, O2 Power is helping drive India’s journey to a cleaner energy future and the national goal of net-zero emissions by 2070.
Parag Sharma, Founder and CEO, O2 Power, said in a statement, โThis PPA with ECR is a significant step in enabling Indian Railways to go green. At O2 Power, we are proud to contribute to this transformative journey by ensuring a round-the-clock (RTC) supply of clean energy to the grid.โ
O2 Powerโs renewable energy projects, with a total capacity of over 6 GW, are spread across various states, making a significant contribution to Indiaโs green energy goals. These projects support the countryโs target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.
