The initiative, designed to align with the highest global standards, focuses on generating solar energy for self-consumption, helping to reduce overall energy consumption and promote sustainability.

Solar Power System to Generate 4 Million kWh Annually
Tarshidโ€™s CEO and Board Member, Waled bin Abdullah Al-Ghreri, explained that following detailed technical assessments and energy audits of the universityโ€™s buildings, the company identified a substantial opportunity to improve energy efficiency using solar power. A robust 2,500 kWh solar panel system will be installed on the rooftops of various university buildings. This system is projected to generate 4 million kWh of renewable energy annually, primarily for the universityโ€™s own use.

Environmental Impact and Energy Savings
The project is expected to save the equivalent of more than 6,600 barrels of oil and reduce approximately 2,000 metric tons of carbon emissions annually. This reduction in carbon emissions is comparable to the environmental benefit of planting over 39,000 tree seedlings each year.
