A broad coalition of energy organizations and their member companies are launching a major advocacy push, holding over 100 bipartisan meetings with Congress to emphasize the critical role of clean energy tax credits in strengthening the U.S. energy and manufacturing sectors. Representing more than 2,000 companies and hundreds of billions in private investment, these groups are urging lawmakers to maintain these key incentives.

As part of the effort, over 1,850 clean energy companies are also sending letters to Congress, highlighting the economic impact of clean energy tax credits. The solar industryโ€™s letter can be found [here], and the business leadersโ€™ letter can be found [here].

Federal energy incentives have sparked a boom in domestic clean energy manufacturing, reducing reliance on foreign suppliers while supporting American jobs. These policies have driven massive investments into energy projects that are delivering affordable, reliable power amid the largest surge in electricity demand since World War II.

Without these tax credits, clean energy deployment could shrink by 237 GW over the next 15 yearsโ€”enough to power 36 million homesโ€”according to Aurora Energy Research. Notably, 70-80% of federal clean energy investments in the past two years have gone to Republican-led districts, with 90% directed toward manufacturing. โ€œSolar can be built faster and cheaper than almost any technology, and itโ€™s clear that we canโ€™t meet our nationโ€™s energy challenges or President Trumpโ€™s energy vision without a robust American solar and storage industry,โ€ said Abigail Ross Hopper, president and CEO of the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). โ€œWith support from federal clean energy policies, American solar manufacturers can now produce enough modules to meet all demand for solar in the United States. Itโ€™s critical that our elected leaders understand the impact of these policies and the jobs and investments they bring to their constituents.โ€
