Watsons’ solar energy program is part of its long-term strategy to reduce operational costs, minimize environmental impact, and support the country’s clean energy transition.

“Our commitment to sustainability drives us to integrate renewable energy into our operations, transforming how we power our stores and distribution centers. With 95 stores and all distribution centers around the country now running on solar energy, we are not only reducing our environmental footprint but also setting a benchmark for sustainable retail practices. This is just the beginning, and we are excited to expand these initiatives to create a greener future,” said Sharon Decapia, Senior Assistant Vice President for PR, Marketing & Sustainability at Watsons.

The company has already reported a notable reduction in carbon dioxide emissions and energy consumption due to the shift to solar power. Watsons also incorporates energy-efficient technologies such as LED lighting and inverter air-conditioning units across its retail network to further optimize energy use.
