POLYVANTIS has officially commissioned a new solar energy plant at its manufacturing site in Weiterstadt, Germany. Built on the company’s grounds, the state-of-the-art facility has an installed capacity of 3.6 megawatts (MW) and is expected to generate approximately 3.3 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of electricity annually. With this move, POLYVANTIS will significantly reduce its environmental impact, cutting around 750 metric tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions each year. This reduction is equivalent to the amount of energy needed to power more than 900 households annually.

Reinhard Tag, EVP of Manufacturing for POLYVANTIS, said in a statement, “The installation of the solar park is an important step toward a resource-efficient future and underscores our commitment to innovating for the future. Through utilizing state-of-the-art methods such as solar energy, we are creating a future that promotes sustainable practices for our manufacturing operations.”

The solar plant will replace about 10% of the total electricity consumption at the Weiterstadt site with clean, renewable energy. This milestone highlights POLYVANTIS’s commitment to sustainability and its ongoing efforts to reduce its carbon footprint. The commissioning of the solar facility is a key part of the company’s broader sustainability strategy. POLYVANTIS also plans to further expand its use of renewable energy through additional projects in the future.
