In a significant move aimed at enhancing the resilience and diversification of global solar value chains, SolarPower Europe and the National Solar Energy Federation of India (NSEFI) have reaffirmed their strategic partnership. The renewed collaboration underscores the shared vision of both entities to promote a more balanced and self-reliant solar manufacturing ecosystem across Europe and India.

The initiative arrives at a critical time, with solar energy rapidly emerging as the cornerstone of global renewable energy ambitions, targeting a tripling of installed capacity to 11 TW by 2030. The partnership is framed within larger policy contexts โ€” including the EUโ€™s Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA) and Indiaโ€™s Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme โ€” which aim to boost domestic manufacturing capabilities in their respective regions.

India, home to one of the worldโ€™s largest solar markets, presents vast opportunities for collaboration with Europeโ€™s robust solar manufacturing base. European manufacturers, known for high-performance systems and strong after-sales service, can complement Indiaโ€™s growing production capacity in modules, inverters, and mounting structures.

The renewed cooperation aligns with the broader goals of the India-EU Clean Energy and Climate Partnership (CECP), which focuses on clean-tech supply chains and climate resilience. Notably, this collaboration will prioritize identifying new manufacturing and financing opportunities, facilitating knowledge exchange, and addressing regulatory barriers to market access.

This strengthened alliance builds upon the foundations laid by the 2019 partnership and is now further empowered by SolarPower Europeโ€™s International Solar Manufacturing Initiative (ISMI), aiming to create joint opportunities across the solar manufacturing spectrum.
