Vanda RE Pte Ltd, a joint venture between Gurīn Energy Pte Ltd and Gentari through Gentari International Renewables Pte Ltd, has signed a major framework supply agreement with LONGi Green Energy Technology Co Ltd. The deal will see LONGi supply up to 1 gigawatt (GW) of high-performance solar photovoltaic (PV) modules for Vanda RE’s flagship solar-and-storage project in the Riau Islands, Indonesia.
The solar PV modules will be deployed as part of Vanda RE’s utility-scale renewable energy development, which includes 2 gigawatts-peak (GWp) of solar PV capacity and 4.4 gigawatt-hours (GWh) of battery storage. The project is a key component of the green economic corridor initiative between Indonesia and Singapore, aiming to support cross-border decarbonisation efforts while meeting Indonesia’s local content (TKDN) requirements for renewable energy infrastructure.
“This partnership with LONGi is a significant milestone for our joint venture,” said Enda Ginting, Country Manager, Indonesia of Gurīn Energy. “LONGi’s leadership in clean energy innovation aligns with Gurīn Energy’s mission to accelerate the energy transition in Asia. The agreement is one of several that Vanda RE has entered into to help drive Indonesia’s emergence as a clean technology hub.”
The project is expected to catalyse domestic clean energy manufacturing, create green jobs, and attract foreign investment to Indonesia’s renewable energy sector. It also highlights the role of large-scale solar and storage deployments in reducing the cost of green power development.
Frank Zhao, President of LONGi APAC, emphasized the strategic impact of the collaboration. “We are honoured to support Vanda RE and Gurīn Energy on this landmark project. This partnership not only fulfils TKDN requirements but also exemplifies how renewable energy investments can drive local industrial growth and strengthen regional energy partnerships.”
He added, “By deploying LONGi’s high-efficiency solar modules, we are supporting Indonesia’s goal to become a regional clean tech hub while delivering cost-competitive, sustainable electricity to Singapore. This project is a model for public-private cooperation in accelerating ASEAN’s decarbonisation journey.”
The Vanda RE–LONGi partnership marks a major milestone in Southeast Asia’s clean energy landscape, reinforcing the region’s commitment to building a greener, more interconnected energy future.
