At SNEC 2025, Sungrow Hydrogen and Wison Engineering introduced a new green hydrogen solution called MegaFlex “Plant-as-a-Product.” This turnkey system is designed to transform how hydrogen plants are built and operated, offering rapid deployment, reduced costs, and large-scale adaptability from megawatt to gigawatt levels. Its modular, fully outdoor design eliminates the need for traditional indoor facilities.

A New Approach to Hydrogen Production

The MegaFlex system represents a shift in green hydrogen development, moving from custom-built plants to a standardized, replicable model. This modular design allows for global scalability and simplifies plant construction through intelligent engineering and pre-configured systems.

The solution comes as a complete package, integrating all core and support systems needed for hydrogen production. These include electrolysis equipment, power supply, cooling units, water treatment systems, and automated control technology. The result is faster project delivery, lower construction costs, and improved reliability.

Key benefits include:

  • Safe and consistent hydrogen output using flexible water electrolysis technology
  • Faster deployment and easier expansion through standardized, modular units
  • Reduced on-site construction risks and quicker setup thanks to plug-and-play components

Engineered for Outdoor Performance

At the heart of the solution is Sungrow Hydrogen’s advanced electrolysis system, designed specifically for outdoor use. The equipment is built to withstand extreme weather, including high temperatures, rain, dust, and sunlight. It features corrosion-resistant materials and protection against lightning and water ingress, ensuring stable operation in tough environments.

MegaFlex marks a significant step forward in making green hydrogen production more efficient, scalable, and globally accessible.

“Where traditional solutions hit walls, we’ve built bridges,” said Robin Sun, General Manager of Sungrow Hydrogen Product Center. “Through product upgrades, we have achieved a fully outdoor water electrolysis hydrogen production solution, which delivers 15.5% smaller footprint than conventional systems and 11.5% lower total costs (based on 100MW reference cases), while incorporating maintenance-optimized design for enhanced serviceability and operational reliability.”
